Imaginarium… a place devoted to the imagination. There are various types of imaginaria, centres largely devoted to stimulating and cultivating the imagination, towards scientific, artistic, commercial, recreation, or spiritual end…”
Raymond Colautti grew up with a love of art. From a very early age he watched his father painting landscapes and portraits.
Ray’s studio is his imaginarium. Through out his life he has been inspired by imaginative art that may convey a storey, a type of visual form, a vista, slice of reality, dream or emotion. He likes to explore light, colour and shape.
Ray’s works include bas relief and texture art, using natural and even industrial elements at times. He works with wood, plastic, clay, acrylics, acrylic glazes, plaster, concrete and metals to turn his imagination loose to experience light, darkness, and colour. He is a keen student of nature, classical, ancient, renaissance and religious art. The patterns, phases and the geometry of nature bring him to look for the face of the Creator.
Ray works out of his home studio where has lived many happy years Windsor with his wife, Charlotte. They have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren. He is practicing barrister and solicitor. Law may be his profession, but art is his passion.
